when u make furniture it should be presentable to your client else you will never get repeat orders. similarly to get a carpentry jobs you should have the skill to show what you produced in your jobs earlier, but ensure to show good jobs only!

I would say that any amount of preparation for a presentation does not help if it does not come from the heart. Of course, preparation, facts and good matter is necessary but what is done with passion comes across effectively and forcefully.
